What's the difference between Coated and Uncoated print colors?Updated a year ago

The difference between coated and uncoated colors is simply how the color will appear on a coated surface vs an uncoated surface. With either color space, the color itself is actually the same, but Pantone will display them differently to show how the color will present differently once printed, depending on the surface. Uncoated surfaces will absorb more of the color than a coated surface will, so prints on uncoated surfaces will always appear slightly duller than if it were printed on a coated surface.
